- If you’re in the Main Settlement on Thomson Bay we can tell you more about the world-famous quokkas, or introduce you to some of the fascinating historic characters who once lived here.
- Out across the island we have guides who can point out some of our beautiful wildlife and coastal scenery.
- If you want to take in a view then find out all about the Wadjemup lighthouse as you spiral up to the balcony, 38m above the ground. Or come and visit Oliver Hill, where massive guns from World War 2 are preserved intact.
This year we celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the Voluntary Guides being setup on Rottnest Island. From an initial 50 guides in 1986 running tours in school holidays, we now have over 300 friendly and knowledgeable volunteers providing a range of free and paid tours 364 days a year across the island. Come and meet us!
The Rottnest Voluntary Guides Association acknowledge the Whadjuk Noongar people as the traditional custodians of Wadjemup. We value their culture and heritage, the contribution they make to the island today, and we pay our respects to their Elders both past and present.
