When joining the Rottnest Voluntary Guides Association (RVGA) there are two classes of membership to
consider. You may apply to join as an Associate Member or you may apply to join as a Trainee Guide.
Applications to join as an Associate Member can be made at any time during the year and at a later date
you can apply to be a Trainee Guide.
Associate Members who are accepted into the training course will have the cost of their membership
fee paid during the current membership year deducted from the cost of the training course.
As an Associate Member you can access the RVGA's monthly Newsletter and you will be eligible to
attend the business and social meetings held on the mainland, generally at the Dalkeith-Nedlands
Bowling Club, Jutland Parade, Dalkeith. Attending business and social meetings will provide the
opportunity to meet and make friends with other members, learn about Rottnest, and get to know what's
involved in being a guide on Rottnest Island.
Applications to join the RVGA as a Trainee Guide are subject to an interview process in January or early February and approval by the
Committee. As a Trainee Guide you will participate in the RVGA's training course, which includes two training weekends on Rottnest Island.
When you have successfully completed the training program and the associated assessments you will be eligible to undertake guiding duties on
